Apple Tea

I was in the mood to make tea today while working here at home. Here is a healthy, yummy tea for you all to try out.
* Sliced apples
* few sticks of cinnamin
* flor de jamaica (flower of jamaica)

I get the jamaica flower in Mexico ( this is a great antioxident, and suppresses your appetite as well).

Boil, steep, then you can drink it hot or cold. I like to put it into a pitcher in the fridge, and drink from it for a few days.

I love how pretty an apple is on the inside when you slice it this way ( in the pic).

Sunset in Rosarito

I had a very peaceful 4 days visiting my parents in Primo Tapia Mexico near Rosarito. They moved into a community called Mission Viejo. Inspite of the many warnings that the US gives about crossing the border, I find that if you scare yourself and listen to all the media, you are missing out on a sweet gem in Mexico. Living close to LA, there are many many crimes that happen everyday and don't get as much hype as Mexico does. Yes there is danger in Mexico, but isn't it dangerous just about everywhere? Be smart, and stay away from bars, clubs, drugs and you will be just fine.

Lazy days ahead

Its been so hot here, I am looking forward to my little Mexico trip starting tomorrow. I dragged this little watercolor postcard out that I painted 2 summers ago in the Grand Bahamas. Makes me want to go back. The dark spot to the left in the ocean was a great little snorkling spot that my girls and I could swim to everyday. Have a lazy day on me.

My Mexican seashells finally find their home

I have finally found a jar worthy of my Mexico memories. The Encinata shores were lined with gorgeous sea shells from two summers ago. I vacationed there in the summer on a beach house and couldn't resist plucking these beauties from the sea. Anyone else fancy seashells as much as I do?
Sea Shell by Amy Lowell

Sea Shell, Sea Shell,Sing me a song,
O Please!A song of ships, and sailor men,
And parrots, and tropical trees,
Of islands lost in the Spanish Main
Which no man ever may find again,
Of fishes and corals under the waves,
And seahorses stabled in great green caves.
Sea Shell, Sea Shell,
Sing of the things you know so well.
